Obituary for Zella Orpha Arnold (Landes)

Zella O. Arnold, 81, passed away June 6, 2016 at Mennonite Friendship Communities, South Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born February 3, 1935 in Ulysses, Kansas, the daughter of Dwight and Virgie Landes. She was a retired employee of Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and also loved to babysit children.

A graduate of Nickerson High School, she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and Salem Community Church of the Brethren. She also loved doing crochet and embroidery work.

She married Billy Lee Spaniol in 1955 and they divorced in 1975. She married Jim Arnold in 1999. He preceded her in death in 2010.

Other survivors include 3 daughters, Melody Vest, Terry Spaniol, Cindy (Mike) Renollet; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, twin boys, 1 sister, and, 1 brother.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held Friday, June 10, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Salem Community Church of the Brethren in Nickerson, Kansas with pastors George Hinton and Harold Nelson presiding. Inurnment will take place at Fairlawn Burial Park. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund and gifts may be made out to the Reno County Animal Shelter and left in care of Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
