Obituary for David Patrick Cooley

David Patrick Cooley, 60, passed away July 18, 2016 at his residence in Great Bend, Kansas. The son of Albert and Marjorie Cooley, he was born in Wichita, Kansas on March 12, 1956. He was a retired baker.

He loved to read and watch science books and movies, was an avid water color artist, loved listening to the blues, doing jigsaw puzzles, and was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

He married Mary Miller, and, even though they later divorced they remained the best of friends. She survives.

Other survivors include 3 sons, Patrick (Kristy), Matt, Levi; 2 brothers Terry, Chris (Stephanie); 1 sister, Diane; 2 grandchildren, Aiden and Brooklyn. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 5:30 pm, at the Veterans Memorial Park, under the large shelter southwest side, Great Bend , Kansas. In lieu of flowers a memorial had been set up and gifts may be made to the Barton County Chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Caitlin Kline-Martin for the tremendous care she provided. Also, thank you to George Martin for providing services during the celebration.
