Donna Marie Hayes
Donna Marie Hayes, 76, passed away February 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family at Mennonite Friendship Communities in South Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born in Hugoton, Kansas, the youngest of 12 children, to Queen and Daniel Cowser, on March 30, 1940.
Better known as “Gigi,” she was the life in a room, always ready for a party, and always had a warm smile on her face. A “super couponer” she was always the bubbly red head who would do anything to help anyone who needed her. When she had quiet time she loved watching QVC and drinking coffee. The impact that she made on her family will be missed.
She married Gary Melvin Hayes in Raton, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on August 27, 2007.
Other survivors include 2 daughters, Colene (Walter) Purcell, Michella (John) Reist; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 11 siblings, 2 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at the Forest Center in Meade, Kansas. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be made to Reno County Animal Shelter and left in care of Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas.
