Obituary for Arturo Sandoval Jr.

Arturo  Sandoval Jr.
Arturo Sandoval, Jr., 78, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He was born July 27, 1938 in El Paso, Texas.

At eleven years of age, his family moved to Newton, Kansas and would later settle in Wichita. In 1956 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He was an employee of Cessna/Eaton for 35 years. In addition, he found much enjoyment as an umpire and official for many years.

On January 20, 1962 he married the love of his life, Rosemary Garcia. Together, they had three children.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Richard (Charolette) of Destin, Florida, David (Michelle Nichols) of Hutchinson, Kansas; Mark (Valerie) of Wichita, Kansas; six grandchildren, Chris (Christine), Andrew, Heather (Steven), Roman, Hannah, Isaac; four great grandchildren, Payton, Blake, Zoe, Skye; his siblings, Louis, Carmen, Babe (Art), Ana; many nieces, nephews and godchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Elvira, siblings, Jose’, Raphael, and Isabel, a grandson, Rion. In his final moments, he was surrounded by his family and loved ones. He will truly be missed by all that knew and loved him.

A reading of the rosary will take place Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in South Hutchinson, Kansas, followed by a Celebration Mass at 10:15 a.m. at the church with Father Ned Blick, presiding. Burial will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park with military honors. In lieu of flowers the family has established a memorial fund and gifts may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and left in care of the funeral home.
