Obituary for Dale M. Shumway

Dale M.  Shumway
Dale M. Shumway, 95, passed away October 28, 2017 at Pleasant View Home in Inman, Kansas. He was born September 19, 1922 in Pratt County, Kansas, the son of Glen C. and Hazel E. Shumway. He retired from Krause Plow in 1981.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II with Company B, 112 Airborne Army Signal Battalion.

He married Louetta Briggeman on October 11, 1947. She preceded him in death on August 30, 2017. They would have been married 70 years this year.

Survivors include 3 daughters, Susan (Paul) Petitt, Marcia (Wayne) Strawder, Valerie (Wayne) Williams; 1 brother, Merlin Shumway; 2 sisters, Lovara Rein, Karen Troyer; 8 grandchildren , 13 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Shelley, a son- in- law, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at Old Mission – Heritage Funeral Home, 528 N. Main, Hutchinson, Kansas. Funeral service will take place Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow at Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, Kansas.
